Cinema Learning Challenge

Pioneers in Skirts is a 60-min multi-award-winning documentary about how today’s women & girls experience and combat stereotyping in their lives. When watching the film, young audiences connect with this problem on an individual level; experiencing what it is that can affect their ability to believe in themselves and awakening to the idea that they are in control of that mindset.

Girls and boys of all ages are invited to join Director Ashley Maria and Producer Lea-Ann W. Berst on August 26 for an interactive program about awakening their ambition and taking control of their path.

This 30-min “Find Your Inner Pioneer” program honors Women’s Equality Day — a day that marks a turning point in our U.S. history of the struggle for equal treatment of women and their rights. Following the screening of the documentary film Pioneers in Skirts, the filmmakers will host an interactive session to celebrate the day and use scenes from the film to discuss how to focus on what it takes to maintain ambition and achieve goals.

This Field Trip movie and discussion will open young minds up to the realities of the world they live in, show them that they have the power to drive exponential change in it, and that when they try out new skills and knowledge – they can do anything.
