DOCUMENTARY PIONEERS IN SKIRTS ALLIES WITH MUSEUMS FOR WOMEN’S EQUALITY DAY

Raleigh, N.C., August 22, 2020 – Director Ashley Maria and producer Lea-Ann W. Berst are proud to announce their collaboration with BIG & Digital, LLC. to support Women’s Equality Day through the Cinema Learning Challenge. On August 25 and 26, museums across the country will take part in a Virtual Field Trip initiative where students and their families can see Pioneers in Skirts and take part in conversation with the filmmakers.

“This initiative is really important to us,” said producer Lea-Ann W. Berst. “Museums across the U.S. are looking for sustainable ways to connect with their communities during the pandemic. So, when BIG & Digital approached us, we jumped at the chance to support museums by bringing students into the Pioneer conversation.”

The Find Your Inner Pioneer field trip movie watching program is an interactive program designed for students of all ages. The first of an on-going field trip program with Pioneers in Skirts, students and educators will watch the film at their leisure on August 25 and then participate in a conversation with the filmmakers on August 26.

“I’m excited to talk to the students about creating their own Pioneering Path,” said director Ashley Maria. “This virtual field trip experience will help students begin to identify and challenge biases as well as confront nay-sayers. Those are the building blocks they need to build their ambition and achieve their goals.”
