Here you’ll find highlights from our adventures as we follow main characters and interview topic experts!!What did we do in February?
Our crew traveled to Nebraska to interview Major General Heidi V. Brown. While in Omaha we also held a “Woman on the Street” video shoot where we asked people on the street about the film. The people we met were amazing! We’ll be sharing that piece when it’s ready.General Brown is the Director of Global Operations, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. She is responsible to the commander on matters of situational awareness, command and control, integrated plans, and global nuclear, cyber, and space operations. When we met up with her at her home, General Brown had just transitioned from her previous position in Alabama as the Director for Test for the Missile Defense Agency.Nebraska Update Video (59 sec)

She’s the first…
As Commander of the 31st Air Defense Artillery Brigade, General Brown was the first woman to command and lead a brigade into combat and has the added distinction of being the first female general in the Air Defense Artillery branch. But does she like being called “the first woman?” Well…it’s certainly nice to be the “first,” but when we asked her, General Brown told us she felt it’s much nicer to be recognized as an accomplished general, no matter the gender.

WHO IS THAT IN THE BANNER PICTURE?

Well that’s our Producer, Lea-Ann W. Berst, speaking to the Yeti marketing team. As an engagement marketer, Lea-Ann works with companies who need to engage with their audience in order to grow their sales and their brand. When we were filming with the Yeti Robotics team in January, they asked her to show them how to utilize their existing strengths for an effective outreach program. Please visit their Facebook page to see some of their marketing efforts! And, while you’re there, click LIKE to support and follow the Yeti’s as they compete in robotic competitions.
